Volunteer with MertonPlus
Merton Plus is entirely run by volunteers. There are many ways you can help us support our LGBTQ+ community in Merton and beyond. We want to build our network to be the best we can be.
If you're interested in any of the roles below, or have another idea of you'd like to get involved, please get in touch using the contact form and we'll get back to you.

Be a welcoming face
Merton Plus meets twice a month at our favourite cafes. Helping out can simply mean turning up for the beginning, grabbing us a table, and being there to welcome new faces. Easy! Feel free to bring games or other icebreakers.
Be an organiser
We are open to hold and support a wide variety of events: from film screenings to arts and crafts, nature trails to night outs. If there is an event you would like to organise for Merton Plus, we will be more than happy to support your ideas. We can find you helpers, promote the event and cover any reasonable costs.
Join our PRIDE planning team
Help us bring PRIDE to Merton this summer! Join our team to help us organise something special.
Be a representative
As Merton Plus, we want to ensure that voice of the LGBTQ+ community is heard in our borough and beyond. We invite you to represent Merton Plus on another local community panel or board (perhaps you already sit on one?).
Build our armoury!
As Merton Plus, we act as a point of contact representing the LGBTQ+ community, and as a signpost to allied organisations and charities. You can help us by sharing resources and building our network. From this, we can update our website, create teaching packs and get the word out via social media and our newsletter.
Create and design
From designing posters to creating social media posts, there are manty ways you can volunteer your artistic flare with Merton Plus.
Join our board
Interested in taking a more in-depth role? Help decide the future direction of the group and encourage our growth. Join our core group, help build links with other organisations and raise money for events by fundraising and applying for grants.
